Serve Your Community
Change Begins at Home
You don't have to go to Africa to be a missionary; every follower of Christ is called to share his gospel in different ways. For some of us, that means serving through the local church. From sorting clothes and serving meals to greeting guests and counting money, there's something everyone can do to help ignite the revolution.
Second Saturdays, 9-11am
Did you know that famililes receiving public assistance can't use it to buy diapers? Baby Grace is a ministry supporting families with children ages 0-5 by providing them with monthly supplies of diapers, as well as clothing, toys, and other household items. Revolution hosts Baby Grace in our building on the second Saturday of every month. Volunteers help organize and package diapers, set up tables, play with children while parents shop for items, and much more.
Volunteer at Children's Mercy
Children’s Mercy Hospital is always looking for volunteers to be a blessing to their patients and patients' families. They have many unique opportunities including a play program, art cart, family support, and Ronald McDonald Family Room just to name a few.
Every Advent season, we "un-decorate" the Angel Tree to benefit our neighbors in need. Each ornament on the tree lists items needed by one of our partner organizations, such as Baby Grace, a diaper pantry, or Neighbor2Neighbor, a soup kitchen. Everyone takes an ornament off the tree and returns with the items to donate, until all the ornaments are gone.
At Revolution, we believe in putting our faith to work! We offer monthly "Serve Days" at various locations throughout the metro area. These change monthly - contact our office to find out when & where our next one will be! Previous serve day partnerships include organizations like Gillis, Ozanam, Restart, Harvesters, Veronica's Voice, among many others. We also host Baby Grace, a diaper pantry, in our building on a regular schedule, providing on-site volunteer opportuniteis for children and adults.
Jackson County Foster Children's Clothes Closet
The Foster Children’s Clothes Closet is located at our sister community in Waldo, Keystone Church. This is the only area clothes closet serving foster families in the county and is operated under the auspices of the Jackson County Children’s Division.
Many of the children who enter the foster program arrive with only the clothes on their backs. Moreover, since the clothing allowance for their foster parents is only $150 per year, many depend on the two full outfits we attempt to provide every six weeks. We do this entirely with private donations and volunteer help. To get involved, please send us an email.
